Wozniacki, Sharapova advance at Indian Wells; Henin slips

The second-seeded Wozniacki, of Denmark, came from behind to beat American Vania King 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 at the beautiful Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Sharapova, seeded 10th, also rallied from a set down to post a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over fellow Russian Vera Dushevina. Sharapova titled here in 2006. Blake, Nalbandian advance at BNP Paribas Open

Blake cruised past Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3, 6-2 in a mere 55 minutes on the hardcourts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The struggling 30-year- old Blake improved to a pedestrian 6-5 this season. Nalbandian, who reached as high as third in the world rankings, topped qualifier Stefan Koubek 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) in nearly one hour, 15 minutes. Blake advances at BNP Paribas Open

Blake cruised past Spaniard Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3, 6-2 in a mere 55 minutes on the hardcourts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The struggling 30-year- old Blake improved to a pedestrian 6-5 this season. Additional opening-round wins came for Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, Israeli Dudi Sela, German Simon Greul, Taipei’s Yen-Hsun Lu and Aussie Marinko Matosevic. Fish, the runner-up here in 2008, rallied from a set down to post a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory over German Michael Berrer, while Moya dismissed American Tim Smyczek 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-5) on the hardcourts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
