Pettitte had reportedly turned down a one-year offer for $10 million last week but on Wednesday the New York Daily News indicated that the lefty has agreed to a deal that will pay him $11.75 million.
The 37-year-old veteran was 14-8 with a 4.16 earned run average in 2009, then had a banner postseason for the World Series champs. He was 4-0 in the playoffs, including two wins in the World Series, and was the winning pitcher in each of New York’s series-clinching games.
